Finca Luna Nueva Lodge – A Favorite for Families in La Fortuna

Finca Luna Nueva Lodge operates a 200-acre regenerative farm that produces organic ingredients for its restaurant and supplies the local community. The property borders the Children's Eternal Rainforest and offers 3 km of hiking trails through primary and secondary rainforest. Guests can climb the bamboo observation tower for canopy-level views of wildlife including sloths, toucans, and howler monkeys.

The lodge provides 13 rooms including Casita Deluxe units with private balconies overlooking the rainforest and Family Double Rooms sleeping up to four guests. Each room has a private bathroom, air conditioning, and access to a hammock on the terrace. The Superior Double Rooms offer garden views and are located near the pool and restaurant.

The on-site restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner using ingredients harvested daily from the farm's gardens and dairy. Breakfast includes made-to-order eggs, fresh tropical fruits, homemade granola, and organic honey from the lodge's stingless bees. Dinner offers a changing buffet with options like grilled tilapia, pasta, and locally sourced vegetables, plus two chef's specials each night.

The Rainforest Spa offers 10 types of massage including deep tissue and Thai techniques using organic local ingredients. Guests have access to an outdoor swimming pool with a shallow end for children, a hot tub, and sun loungers. Daily yoga classes are held on the yoga pavilion surrounded by the forest.

The lodge offers guided night walks with naturalist Jason to spot red-eyed tree frogs, snakes, and giant fruit bats. Guests can join the farm tour with Carlos to sample native fruits and learn about syntropic agriculture, or make chocolate from cacao harvested on the property. Birdwatching tours with Roy begin at 6 a.m. and frequently spot toucans, Montezuma oropendolas, and crested guans.
